In the past, we have noticed that some of our students become hungry and lose energy midmorning.  We understand that, due to family schedules, some of our students are eating breakfast very early in the morning.

In an effort to address this problem and yet continue to get the most out of our work time, we are going to allow students to bring their own nutritious snack to school if they find that they need it.  There are a few guidelines that we would like the students to follow:

  • snacks should be nutritious and single serving size (enough to fit in a sandwich bag)
  • snacks are not to be shared or traded
  • snacks will be eaten only during reading/language arts classes
  • classrooms and desks will remain neat with no littering of empty wrappers or crumb (if this becomes a problem, this privilege will be lost)

This worked well last year, and we hope to have another successful year with this midmorning nutritious snack.  We are trying to make the most out of our day and have healthy, happy, and productive students.

Please let us know if you have any questions.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
