Dear Parents,

Welcome back to another school year!  We hope that all of you had a great summer. We are very excited to start the year and we are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces in our classroom and meeting several new ones.

We feel strongly that parents are a very important part of their child’s education, and we are looking forward to working closely with all of you.  We are asking each of you to take a few minutes every night to do the following:

Please check and initial your child’s assignment notebook every night.
  • check to make sure homework is completed
  • watch for upcoming tests, events, or project due dates
  • help your child prepare for the next day (lunch money, gym clothes, book orders, permission slips, etc.)
Please go through your child’s TAKE HOME folder with her/him every night and clean it out.  This should contain:
  • corrected work
  • notes from school or teachers
  • any homework that needs to be completed
If you can routinely do these two simple tasks, you can make a huge difference in your child’s academic success.  You will be better informed of school events and, most importantly, your child’s progress.

We strongly believe that good communication between teachers and parents is key to a successful year.  Please keep us informed of any questions or concerns that you have concerning your child.  Feel free to call us at home if you are unable to reach us at school. We will also be keeping you informed of any concerns that we may have.

We look forward to the opportunity to work with you this year.
